Course Description
Dispensing Supplies from the Strategic National Stockpile was developed as part of the CDC’s Cities Readiness Initiative but can be used by any locality to train response personal on how to distribute supplies from the SNS. This interactive computer-based course educates users on the SNS, on efficient methods for distributing SNS supplies, on the Incident Command System and on what may be required of them during a response effort. Users are required to demonstrate an understanding of each topic covered before moving on to the next topic and are also required to complete a final knowledge assessment. Upon successfully completing the course users can print out a certificate of completion. Users will have access to the course for 1 year.
Objectives
  • Understand purpose of the SNS
  • Recognize what is included in the SNS
  • Identify who is responsible for maintaining and distributing the SNS
  • Identify the two primary methods of distributing SNS supplies
  • Recognize pros and cons of each distribution method
  • Identify key components of each distribution method
  • Demonstrate an understanding of NIMS and the ICS
  • Recognize key aspects of the ICS
  • Identify common responsibilities of all responders
  • Recognize roles responders may be asked to play
